Supporting your child
We believe that links between home and school are vital for a child’s development. The more parents are involved with their child’s education, the more motivated and engaged the child becomes and this often results in greater progress.
A few key pointers for supporting your child with their learning:
- Listen to them read, talk about the story or the content of the book and ask them to make predictions about what may happen next!
- Encourage them to read a variety of different texts and genres; older children may enjoy reading magazines and newspaper articles, or a guide book about somewhere they have been.
- Talk to you child about what they are doing in school on a daily basis.
- Let them play! Time spent as a family, talking, laughing, playing games and exploring has a huge influence upon a child’s personal development- take every opportunity!
Inspire Sessions and Share My Learning
Over the course of the year, teachers run Inspire Sessions within their classes, these can be a valuable opportunity to work alongside your child within ‘their’ setting.
We also run monthly Share My Learning afternoons where we invite families to spend time seeing the work their child is most proud of
