Summer 2

In history week we have focused on the Georgian Era. We have taken part in lots of different activities including making wax seals, creating Georgian wallpaper, learning fan languages, making Georgian houses, painting portraits of King George, and looking at Georgian artefacts.

We started the week at Bruton Primary School with children from the Federation. We completed a range of activities from creating wallpaper, making fans and writing invitations for a party using wax seals to seal the envelope.

We compared the Georgian Era to nowadays. We looked at a range of images and decided whether we would use the items today or in the Georgian times.

We went on a walk around Ditcheat to see if we could find any Georgian houses. When we got back to school we made a Georgian house using an old shoe box.

We had fun in PE this week. The children played different Georgian style games from hop scotch, skipping, 9 pin bowls and football with a tin can.

We have painted portraits of King George and looked at different clothes the Georgian children wore if they came from a rich or poor family.

We enjoyed dressing up and parading around the playground.
