Keeping your child safe online

The internet is an amazing place with so much to offer and so much a part of our lives.

We want to make sure that, when our children are using the internet, they stay safe just like we would in real life.

At school, we have termly assemblies and termly lessons about online safety but it is something that we are always discussing and talking about with the children.  The games, apps and sites are ever changing and, on this page, we will keep you up to date with what you need to know.

Commonsense

With so many new games, apps and films being released every week, it can be difficult for parents and carers to keep up and know which ones are appropriate for their children.

www.commonsensemedia.org  is a free website which provides guidance about games, apps and films.

You can read reviews written by experts, parents and children, including their suggested age-suitability and details about the content. You can also choose to sign up to receive the latest updates and personalise the content based on the age of your child.

The Internet Matters team are challenging you to ‘Play Your Children at their Own Game’ this summer! Playing video games with your children is one of the best ways to keep them safe and healthy when they are gaming and we all know that kids love to beat the adults!
