Welcome to Willow Class – Year 5 and Year 6
We love to learn and have been developing our skills as independent learners. There’s nothing too big or small that we can’t tackle and we’re not afraid to make mistakes or step out of our comfort zone.
Be ready to learn
Willow class children are expected to be more organised and independent as they begin to prepare for life at secondary school, after year 6. They need to have a pencil case with: blue ink pen, purple pen, ruler, pencils, coloured pencils, protractor, Pritt stick and mini scissors.
Phones
If year 6 are walking home and need a phone in school, parents should inform the school and the children need to drop off their phone at the office in the morning and collect in the evenings. Phone are otherwise not needed. Children must not keep them in their bags.
PSHE
PSHE lessons take place weekly.
PE
PE sessions are on Wednesday and Thursday so please make sure your child beings their full school kit in on those days. Children should have long hair tied back.
Outdoor learning/forest school
This takes place Thursday afternoon. Please can children bring in named wellies/outdoor shoes and a raincoat and season appropriate clothing.
Homework goes out on a Friday and is expected to be completed by the following Thursday (tests are Friday). There are longer projects eg research Nigeria.
