Autumn 1

We had a wonderful day at the Hauser and Wirth Art Gallery in Bruton learning about Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely.

Year 2 children have been using the base 10 to help with exchanging when adding and subtracting two 2-digit numbers.

We made the digestive system today in Science. It was a very fun lesson.

In Science, the Year 3 children have been learning about the human body and tooth decay. They have carried out an experiment to find out which drink contains the most amount of sugar. We observed the egg shells decay and found out that Ribena is bad for our teeth.

The Year 2 children enjoyed their trip to the Rural Life Museum learning all about farming. They enjoyed making butter, grinding grain into flour, exploring the museum and dressing up in smocks.

The Year 3 children enjoyed their Stone Age trip to Carymoor. We dressed up in animal skins, made shelters, looked at artefacts and used flint and steel to make a spark.

In Music, we have been learning the ukulele with Mr Large.
